Seanté Hunt is a Baltimore City native with 30 years of experience in substance use disorder (SUD) administration and direct care. She started her journey as an addictions counselor after graduating from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services. She was later granted certification as a Certified Associate Counselor - Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) and as an approved supervisor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. After working as a clinical supervisor in Baltimore City and surrounding counties, as a respected team member with various inpatient and outpatient behavioral health providers she went on to obtain a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She then went on to work in several methadone maintenance programs.
Seanté has also worked as an Overdose Response Program Coordinator and Opioid Misuse Prevention Coordinator where she facilitated Narcan (naloxone) training and worked to relay information to physicians concerning registration for the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP). In addition, she was co-chair of an Opioid Intervention Team (OIT), Overdose Fatality Review Team, and Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) team. Seanté came to the Maryland Department of Health Behavioral Health Administration in 2019 and now serves as the State Opioid Response Grant Project Director.
