Justin Berk, MD MPH MBA serves as the Medical Director for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. He oversees all healthcare delivery for individuals in state custody, including the Medication for Addiction Treatment program. He completed his joint residency in the Johns Hopkins Hospital Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Urban Health Residency Program in Baltimore, MD. He's the author of the “Heath Effects of Incarceration” book chapter of Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice. He is board certified in Addiction Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics and serves as a clinical educator and researcher at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
