Describe how Maryland is using SOR funding to increase access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using the three Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved medications for the treatment of opioid use disorders.
Explain how Maryland is using SOR funding to implement 24/7 Crisis Walk-In Stabilization Centers, Mobile Crisis Teams, Rapid Response, and Crisis Beds.
Describe how Maryland is using SOR funding to develop a statewide needs assessment using epidemiological data to identify/include: The scope of OUD and substance use disorders and overdose mortality in recent years, Strengths, unmet service needs, and critical gaps in MD service system across diverse racial, ethnic, and geographic, and other demographic groups.

Presentation Summary: The purpose of SOR is to address the opioid crisis by increasing access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using the three Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved medications (buprenorphine, methadone, vivitrol) for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD), reduce unmet treatment needs, and reduce opioid overdose related deaths through the provision of prevention, treatment, and recovery support activities for opioid use disorder, including prescription opioids, heroin, and illicit fentanyl and fentanyl analogs. SOR also supports evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery support services to address stimulant misuse and use disorders, including for cocaine and methamphetamine.
