Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will:

Describe the current literature on opioid use disorder and pregnancy.
Describe the IOT-SEI program framework and understand the purpose of the program.
Assess the impact of the IOT-SEI program on the maternal and infant health outcomes of participants.

Presentation Summary: Pregnant women with opioid use disorder face many barriers to treatment, such as fear of legal or child welfare consequences, stigma, and lack of access to healthcare services. Without proper treatment and prenatal healthcare, the risks of adverse outcomes for the infant and mother increase. The use of MAT, with other coordinated services, has been proven effective in helping pregnant women with opioid use disorder. The Integrated Opioid Treatment and Substance Exposed Infants (IOT-SEI) program provides these services for pregnant and postpartum women in New Jersey. This presentation provides an overview, highlights best practices, and includes an evaluation of data.
