Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will:

Describe how medication-assisted treatment is a viable option for court-involved parents/caregivers that have opioid use disorders
Identity collaboration approaches that reduce stigma and increases access to treatment to support the safety and well-being of children and recovery of parents
Identify strategies community agencies can use to partner with courts to increase access to MAT and reduce stigma around the use of MAT

Presentation Summary: The proposed workshop will focus on improving cross-system collaboration to reduce stigma and increase access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services. Presenters will discuss implementing effective strategies to increase access to MAT treatment for families involved in the child welfare and dependency court systems. Specifically, this interactive workshop will show how implementing the use of a bench card focused on MAT to guide judicial practices with parents affected by opioid use disorders (OUD) in conjunction with cross-system collaboration can help reduce stigma and improve treatment outcomes.
