At the completion of this activity, participants will:
Demonstrate knowledge of the effectiveness of MOUD in reducing opiate use and increasing treatment retention .
Describe how individual and treatment characteristics can affect success in treatment.
Acknowledge the importance of comprehensive and tailored treatment programs for individuals with OUD.
Presentation Summary: Participants included N = 118 individuals with OUD enrolled in outpatient MOUD treatment at REACH Health Services between October 2021 and February 2022. The majority of the population is Black (59%) and Male (53%). Most were initiated on Methadone (85%), with the remaining receiving Buprenorphine. At baseline enrollment, 65% tested positive for opiate use. All completed standardized intake assessments. Over the next 6 months, participants will receive substance use counseling and additional services as well as regular urine screenings. Results will show how individual characteristics and treatment services received are related to opiate use and retention in treatment.
