Explain the challenges of probation and parole for justice-involved people, specifically for those with opioid use disorders.
Demonstrate how technology can help improve the success of MOUD treatment for justice-involved people.
Describe how technology can facilitate improved connection and engagement with service organizations, such as housing and employment, and other SDOH factors that can be key to successful MOUD treatment.
Presentation Summary: The poster presentation will detail a technology-driven model to improve opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment initiation and retention for people on probation or parole. The workshop will include the process for integrating technology with probation/parole programs with specific focus on improving the success of community reintegration for this population with OUD. Potential benefits relating to justice-involved people’s self-management, OUD treatment engagement, and accessibility to other services helpful in successful reentry will be discussed.
