Personal listening devices (PLDs) are used increasingly by young people, including young children. Volume often is too loud, risking noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Faculty will discuss susceptibility to NIHL, review types and prevalence of PLDs, and outline steps to promote safer use, including volume controls and noise cancellation.
