Familial hypercholesterolemia is the most common genetic cholesterol disorder. Unless treated, it causes disability and death from premature heart disease. This session will discuss diagnosis and treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia, as well as the role of cholesterol screening in children with and without risk factors for premature heart disease.
