S4219: Newborn Screening: It's not Just Biochemistry Anymore

Newborn screening has been expanded to include conditions such as spinal muscular atrophy, X-linked leukodystrophy, severe combined immunodeficiency, Pompe disease, and mucopolysaccharidoses. This session will discuss the need for interdisciplinary care teams, expensive and complicated therapies, and the progressive nature of these conditions.
