Certain systemic diseases comprise the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). I will discuss a case of a fourteen-year-old girl with malocclusion and TMJ pain. This presentation outlines the main orofacial signs and symptoms the pediatric dentist needs to be familiar with for the prompt diagnosis and treatment of the TMJ patient. The earlier the diagnosis the better the prognosis and quality of life for the patient.
