Oral sedation for the pediatric dental patient is undergoing some changes. The medications have not changed but State regulations certainly have. This presentation will discuss some of the medications that are used for enteral sedation and why a practitioner may choose a particular sedative regimen. Any presentation concerning sedation also needs to include a discussion on how the pediatric dentist can prevent problems and set up safe sedation practices in their office. We all have the same goal to safely care for our pediatric patients.
