Children with special health care needs have many barriers accessing oral health care and often face poorer oral health outcomes. This presentation will summarize research by the author that examines the challenges that children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum face when trying to access timely oral health care in Canada. Further, this presentation will review specific strategies for pediatric dentists which can be considered in practice to reduce access to care barriers.
