Dr. Magda ElTekeya was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1955. She graduated from Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt in 1977 and proceeded with her postgraduate studies in Pediatric Dentistry Department at the same University. She received her Master’s degree in 1981, followed by the Doctorate in Pediatric Dentistry in 1987. She has been working as a Professor in Pediatric dentistry in the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University since 1998. She held the position of Postgraduate Program Director of Pediatric Dentistry from 2002 till 2007. She had been chair of Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt, from 2009 till 2012. Her duties included the development of Pediatric Dentistry courses for undergraduate & postgraduate students and the preparation of the Department handbook for undergraduate students.. She participates in lecturing and clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the department, alongside with supervising thesis of Master and Doctoral degrees for Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member in the Committee for Quality Assurance & Accreditation project (QUAAP) and the Committee of Continuous Improvement & Qualifying for Accreditation Project (CIQAP), Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University. She is also an evaluator in the Egyptian Universities Promotion Committee (EUPC). She has a big interest in Pediatric Dentistry research and has many local and international publications in the areas of preventive dentistry, early childhood caries and dental considerations for children with medically or mentally disabled conditions.
