Dr. Aaron R. Kuzel is the Chief Resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Kuzel received his degree in Osteopathic Medicine and Masters in Business Administration from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Society. Dr. Kuzel serves as the Associate Editor for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine’s (SAEM) Pulse Publication as well as a Financial Editor for The Journal of Wellness. Dr. Kuzel has served in several leadership roles such as the In-Training Delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association, the University of Louisville Representative to the Kentucky College of Emergency Physicians, and served as the Resident Representative to the Surgeon General's National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience. With his passion for providing quality emergency care to rural communities, Dr. Kuzel also serves as the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association (EMRA) Representative to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Rural Emergency Medicine Section. Dr. Kuzel is the recipient of the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association's Spirit of Excellence Award and has received the Louisville Metro Police Department's Dive Doctor Award for his work with the Louisville Metro Police's Search and Recovery Team.
