Dr. Nima Sarani is an assistant professor and assistant ultrasound fellowship director in the department of emergency medicine at the University of Kansas Health System. After completing EM residency in 2011 at Oklahoma University, Dr. Sarani moved to southern California working with prominent EM groups in the region including Kaiser Permanente, Vituity, Envision and TEAMHealth. He served on numerous committees while working in the community but eventually returned to academics to complete an ultrasound fellowship at the Univeristy of Kansas Health System and pursue his passion for teaching. He also serves as the assistant director of clinical operations for sepsis care and through his work was able to significantly impact sepsis care in the emergency department and the rest of the health system. He is involved in medical school teaching at Kansas University Medical Center and currently serves as an assistant director of an academic society.
