Alexis Salerno graduated medical school from the University of Maryland in 2015. She continued at the University of Maryland for her Emergency Medicine residency training. She completed her ultrasound fellowship at the University of Maryland and during this time also completed the ACEP/CORD Teaching Fellowship. After fellowship, she continued as a faculty member at the University of Maryland. She is currently an assistant professor of emergency medicine and the ultrasound fellowship director. Over the past few years, she has published several articles on POCUS and has given local, regional, and national lectures on ultrasound. She has been a part of the AAEM-EUS board of directors for the last 3 years and is the current secretary of AAEM-EUS. She is also the co-director for the AAEM POCUS Report Newsletter and Advanced Unmute Your Probe online lecture series. In her spare time, she enjoys training for triathlons and playing with her 120lb German Shepard.
