Beth Pontius, MD, FAAEM is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and an Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Pontius is passionate about emergency medical education, point-of-care ultrasound education, curricular development, mentorship and wellness, and diversity and inclusion in emergency medicine. In addition to her speaking roles at AAEM19, ACEP20, and ACEP21 Scientific Assemblies, she has authored chapters in Rosen’s Emergency Medicine, EM:RAP’s CorePendium, and Emergency Medicine Clinics. In her free time, you can find Dr. Pontius running or cycling, cheering on the Washington Nationals, and training her two German Shepherds, Marla and Goose.
