Maite is an emergency physician with fellowship training in cardiovascular emergencies. She trained at University of Maryland, Baltimore, but moved back to her home country of the Netherlands a few years back and is currently practicing at the Jeroen Bosch ziekenhuis in Den Bosch. She holds a research director position there. She has a passion for education, and has completed the ACEP teaching fellowship. She is currently serving on the board of the Dutch Association of Emergency Physicians as the Educational Director. When she isn't working or teaching she loves to do a spin, travel (pandemic permitting), or ski but spends most of her time building lego sets while listening to true crime podcasts.
