RV Failure in the ED

Many ER docs have become 'LV centric' when considering HF, however the RV plays an integral part. Interestingly, RV failure is the primary presentation of acute decompensated HF in between 2-5% of these cases. Disappointingly, there is not a lot of research on RV failure management especially targeted to the ER doctor. This talk will discuss the etiology of RV failure, keys to diagnosis and steps in the management of RV failure.
