Sepsis Compliance: How We Went from Worst to First, and Saved Lives in the Process

The speaker will share the tools, strategies, and techniques used to improve the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sepsis metric compliance at his tertiary academic Emergency Department. Prior to their sepsis initiative, they were placed in the bottom quartile on CMS metric compliance, but after implementation their performance rose significantly. They also discovered that as their compliance improved, so did their sepsis mortality score.
