Chest pain is one of the most common chief complaints in the Emergency Department. The HEART score is a common risk stratification tool in the evaluation of chest pain. Prior research has demonstrated the existence of racial disparities in health care, specifically in evaluation and treatment of cardiac disease. Our research demonstrated in “Moderate Risk” groups, African American patients had lower rates of Stress Tests compared to White patients of the same risk category.
