We sought to establish an ED-Initiated Buprenorphine Network (EDIBN) to allow emergency providers to initiate medication assisted treatment (MAT) in EDs throughout New York and rapidly link patients to continuing community-based care. We have created the NY MATTERS program that works to overcome obstacles patients face when being linked to opioid use disorder care. The network now includes 45 hospitals, >100 clinics, >1,000 pharmacy locations, and a robust telemedicine infrastructure. Additionally, we are beginning expansion to New Jersey. The program includes free vouchers for buprenorphine as well as transportation. This session will describe the network with the goal of inspiring emergency medicine professionals to create similar programs.
