It is rare for a child to be born into the emergency department. It is even more rare that a neonatal birth in the ED will be medically complex. However, it is imperative that the emergency physician be prepared to act in the event of a distressed newborn. The presenter will discuss the overview and updates to neonatal resuscitation based on their unique anatomy and physiology with an emphasis of potential pitfalls of the process.
