Drugs You Should Be Using: Phenobarbital for Severe Alcohol Withdrawal

Traditional management of severe alcohol withdrawal involves repeated dosing of benzodiazepines until symptoms are well controlled. However, this approach is labor-intensive, inexact, and risks over-sedation and delirium.
