Intimate partner violence (IPV), is a significant public health issue. Research has shown (Waalen et al.) that physicians are often unfamiliar with resources for IPV. To bridge the gap between recognizing IPV and facilitating patients' connection to advocacy groups, it is important to increase medical staff awareness of resources that are available in their specific emergency departments. The purpose of our research is to determine the awareness among medical staff of available resources for IPV survivors specific to the emergency department, and to investigate whether this can be improved upon with education about current resources.
