Maria Pigg is Associate Professor in Endodontics at Malmö University, Sweden. Her clinical research is focused on acute and chronic orofacial pain with special attention to tooth-related pain, neuropathic pain and diagnostics. As a clinical specialist in Endodontics, she provides specialist care at the university clinic in close collaboration with specialist colleagues in orofacial pain, and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students on related topics. She is also director of the international Master in Dental Science program at Malmö. Dr. Pigg is past President of the IADR Neuroscience Group, associate editor of Journal of Oral & Facial Pain and Headache, and a member of the Journal of Endodontics Scientific Advisory Board. She is the vice president of the Swedish Endodontic Society and a member of the European Society of Endodontology, where she serves on the Education & Scholarship Committee.
