Hootan Shahidi is the founder and managing partner of Cross Over Dental Enterprises LLC (C.O.D.E.), a medical billing outsource solution for dentists and dental specialists wishing to maximize benefits for their patients via medical insurance. Cross Over Dental Enterprises provides expertise in benefit checks, pre-authorizations, coding and claims submission along with the claims follow up and appeals to providers in nearly every state.
In 2004, Mr. Shahidi graduated from Emory University with a Master’s Degree in Public Health, focusing on Health Policy and Management. His first position in the dental industry was as an office manager. During this time Mr. Shahidi developed an expertise in dental and medical coding. Mr. Shahidi was able to improve this skill early in his dental career due to exposure to medical claims for oral surgery, sleep apnea oral devices, and trauma related cases.
In 2013, Cross Over Dental Enterprises (CODE) was founded out of a one-bedroom apartment in Woodland Hills, CA, serving just a few local clients. Since 2013, CODE has grown to operating out of both Los Angeles and Atlanta, and serving over 2000 providers in almost all 50 states. CODE is proud to have helped over 100,000 patients in this period, in receiving medical benefits towards their procedures.
Mr. Shahidi now speaks nationally for several large dental manufacturers, dealers, and study clubs who educate practices on the benefits of having medical billing in their practices. In 2015, CODE and Mr. Shahidi joined Dr. Agarwal and the 3D Dentists group in a shared vision of making dental practices more profitable, fun, and patient centric by providing one and two day courses in Raleigh, NC and throughout the US.
