Pain following endodontic treatment can be a significant source of frustration for patients and endodontists. This lecture will present new data from a large NIH-funded practice-based study that that followed patients for 12 months with both patient-reported and clinical outcomes, describing the impact of such outcomes and the path the led to these outcomes.

Know the frequency and severity of longer-term pain following RCT
Describe the clinical presentation of patients with persistent pain
Understand the path, in terms of patient-reported symptoms, to lead to persistent pain
