Dr. O'Dell is currently an associate professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. Before accepting the Chair position, she served as the Interim Program Director for the Advanced Program in Endodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Following a General Practice Residency and several years as a general dentist, she completed her endodontic specialty at USC. Dr. O’Dell spent the next 20+ years as a private practitioner in Southern California while continuing to teach part time at both USC and UCLA. She has further expanded her knowledge base by completing a Masters of Forensic Science, a two-year certificate program in implants, and a Juris Doctorate.
Dr. O’Dell is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). She continues to actively participate in organized dentistry . Her appointments include President for the California State Association of Endodontists, President for the ABE College of Diplomates, CODA site visitor and reviewer, and member of the AAE Educational and Practice Affairs Committees. Additionally, Dr. O’Dell serves as an expert witness. Most recently, she is the founding editor of a new online peer review journal scheduled to launch in early 2022.
