Varun received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2017 from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. He completed his certificates for a preceptorship in Hospital Dentistry/GPR program and as an Advanced Clinical Trainee in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency 2018-19 at UCLA School of Dentistry, California. Varun graduated from the Advanced Standing DMD program at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2021. His passion and interest in academia and research have made him go back to Temple Dental as a full-time faculty. He is involved in treating the underserved population in North Philadelphia at the Faculty Dental Practice and has a particular interest in the management of medically complex patients. He is involved in the Smart Biomaterials Research Lab at Temple Dental where his research is focused on novel smart dental composite with antibacterial properties and will be working on animal model studies to fabricate a novel biomaterial for the treatment of periodontitis.
Varun is a proud Temple Owl and is committed to teaching students, doing collaborative research, and providing dental services to his patients.
