Dr. Sharas earned his BDS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, He then enrolled at Saveetha University, Chennai, to complete his Masters in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. Dr. Sharas later worked at the Endodontic Department , Vydehi Institute of Dental Science and Research Center, as an Associate Professor for a few years while pursuing his Masters in Science in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
Dr. Sharas completed his Doctoral studies from The University of Hongkong., and currently is pursuing his post-graduate program as a resident at the endodontic department the University at Buffalo, NY, USA.
His research intrests include antimicrobial photodynamic therapy,lasers in dentistry, instrumentation and teaching methods.
