S-36 - When to Graft ? Guidelines to Guided Tissue Regeneration in Endodontic Surgery

The success rate of endodontic surgery has shown significant improvement over the past two decades. Many clinicians today started to integrate guided tissue regeneration approaches by through the use of bone-substitutes and resorbable membranes. Emerging questions that are raised by clinician are; when should I place a bone graft? Which graft material I should use? Do I always need to place a membrane with bone grafts? And will my patient benefit or be affected by presence or absence of a graft material?

In this presentation, we will attempt to answer all these questions based on the most recent research findings. We will discuss the impact of guided tissue regeneration on bone remodeling and present clinical guidelines that can help clinicians make better decisions on when and how guided tissue regeneration should be applied.
