Dr. Hamnvik is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He completed residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in Boston. He is currently a clinician-educator at BWH and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His clinical practice focuses on transgender health as well as onco-endocrinology - the diagnosis and management of endocrine diseases in patients with cancer. He is the program director of the endocrinology fellowship program at BWH, and also serves as the Education Editor at NEJM Group.
