LM327 - Why Not Just Louder? Aiding Patients with Severe and Profound Hearing Loss

Abstract: This course will present the complex considerations required for audiological care of patients with severe and profound hearing loss. Simply fitting a hearing aid with more power and using the same fitting and counseling protocols that are being used for patients with mild and moderate hearing loss, will not be sufficient in addressing the needs that arise when the patient has a greater loss. This course will provide information on amplification, fitting, counseling, and other considerations required for a practice to provide optimal care for individuals with significant hearing loss.
