Abstract: This course will present the spectrum of vestibular and balance issues affecting infants through adolescents offering age-appropriate clinical and electrophysiological assessment protocols and management strategies. This will include the most common associated vestibular conditions affecting children:

-BPV of Infancy
-Chronic otitis media with effusion
-Syndrome and mitochondrial related vestibular dysfunction associated with and without sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL)
-Sports related concussion (mTBI)
-Vestibular migraine- onset at puberty
-Children with special needs

The presentation will be enhanced with video case studies to assist attendees in a thorough understanding of the application of assessment protocols and specific management strategies and recommendations.

Learning Objectives:

List the most common otologic and non-otologic conditions causing balance dysfunction in the pediatric population.
Identify the best electrophysiologic test for infants as young as 3 months of age.
Discuss triage and therapy strategies for children with bilateral vestibular loss.
