Assistant Professor
Central Michigan University, Michigan
Dr. Sarah Grinn conducts clinically-translatable research that advances our understanding of individual susceptibility to peripheral and central auditory noise injury. Research in the Grinn Hearing Lab aims to reduce the incidence of recreational and occupational noise-induced hearing loss by improving the current risk-prediction model of auditory safety. Dr. Grinn’s ongoing research, awarded by the National Institutes of Health, analyzes the effects of external-ear mechanics on temporary auditory deficit following a live, virtual-reality music concert exposure. Dr. Grinn earned her Au.D. at The University of Florida, her Ph.D. at The University of Texas at Dallas, and she is currently tenure-track faculty at Central Michigan University.
