Nettles is professor of clinical pediatrics and psychologist for children and young adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and cleft craniofacial disorders at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV). Founder and Director of the Office of Inclusion and Health Equity (OIHE) since 2011, she expanded the program from its origins at MCJCHV to include cultural awareness and bias training throughout the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Nettles is a licensed psychologist in Tennessee and Michigan, a nationally certified school psychologist, and nationally registered health service psychologist. She obtained her doctorate in psychology from Vanderbilt University, Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from University of Tennessee, interned at Howard University School of Medicine (DC) and Fort Knox Army Base (KY), and completed her fellowship at East Windsor Schools (NJ). Nettles has presented and published extensively on bias and psychosocial assessment. She has received numerous academic honors, awards, and accolades.
