Audiologists will see an increased demand for service by older patients whose communication difficulty is caused by a combination of hearing loss and cognitive impairment. To optimize clinical outcomes in this population, hearing professionals must tailor their own communication style as well as the approach to device selection and training. This session will explain how to identify and screen patients with cognitive decline and offer practical tips and techniques for effective interactions and relationships with impaired patients
