My role as a consultant in the project is to provide consultation for clinical issues related to current programming and fitting of hearing aids and cochlear implants as necessary. My academic and clinical training in the field of audiology makes me highly qualified to participate in the clinical components of this research. I am a licensed audiologist in the State of Texas and a senior lecturer and faculty clinical supervisor at Baylor University. I have more than 27 years in audiology clinical practice including audiometric evaluations and aural rehabilitation with an emphasis on hearing devices for both pediatric and adult populations. I have clinical expertise in hearing aid fitting and dispensing and have extensive experience in performing various clinical evaluations in pediatric and adult populations. In addition, I currently teach courses in Introduction to Audiology and Aural Rehabilitation which include topics related to hearing aid fitting, verification, and use of advanced features in addition to clinical practice management which encompasses key aspects of evidence-based practices in audiology. All of these are important components of this research project and required to provide high quality consultation for the project. My expertise, training, and clinical experiences have prepared me to perform the tasks required related to hearing aid fitting and verification in this project.
