Dr. Eve Higby is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Multilingualism Laboratory in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at California State University, East Bay. Her research program broadly addresses questions about language and cognition in bi-/multilingualism across the lifespan. Her work has focused on cross-linguistic influence, particularly native language adaptations in bilingualism, in both healthy bilinguals and bilinguals with aphasia, the cognitive and neural mechanisms engaged during language processing, and how individual differences in language use affects language access processes and cognitive control.
