Joseph Luis Arquette is a graduate student in the AuD program at California State University, Sacramento. He carries a broad perspective and wide range of experience with him to the field of audiology, including entrepreneurial work, community involvement, cultural experiences in the US and abroad, and years of musical training in the performing arts. Joseph received his undergraduate degree in music from UC Berkeley in 2018, where he was also cultivating a passion for hearing science. He attributes much of his professional and academic successes to his family support and time spent as a music student at East Los Angeles College where he gained invaluable experience working within and around the community. After completing his undergraduate degree, Joseph received a scholarship to study politics, food, and culture of the Mediterranean in Barcelona, Florence, and Sicily as part of a UCEAP program. He then went on to complete his post-bacc work in the Speech and Hearing Sciences at California State University at Los Angeles. He speaks fluent Spanish and is interested in the areas of bilingual health literacy and expanding the field of audiology to meet the demands of evolving technology and quality patient experience.
