Viviana is currently a fourth-year student at California State University, Los Angeles. She is completing her fourth year at a private practice in Thousand Oaks, CA. After graduation, she would like to stay in the private practice setting. Viviana enjoys diagnostics, hearing aids, and cochlear implants; and feels that staying in private practice will allow her to incorporate all three. Additionally, what she likes best about private practice is the continuity of care with patients.
Viviana got into audiology because of her siblings, both of which have hearing loss; and she is the youngest of three. Her sister and brother were diagnosed with hearing loss as children, then later diagnosed with Usher Syndrome Type II in their teens. Her parents were very pro-sign and wanted her siblings to be a part of the Deaf culture. Viviana is fluent in ASL and plans to use her fluency with many patients she encounters.
