Abstract: Auditory issues are common and often troubling for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The current retrospective study examined auditory characteristics and performance on behavioral listening measures in 71 children with ASD and normal hearing sensitivity who presented clinically due to concerns for hearing. Over 40% of patients exhibited significantly poorer than expected performance on measures of speech recognition in noise and binaural listening. Auditory performance and clinical implications will be discussed.
