Abstract: Existing published research on audiologic testing with Autism tends to be focused on school aged children. Studies that may include younger children are limited or focus on objective measurements such as auditory brainstem response test. A retrospective chart review was completed on audiologic evaluations of young children (aged 12 months to 6 years) with and without Autism at a large clinical pediatric audiology center. This review will provide guidance towards improving evidence-based practice and clinically applicable strategies in evaluating young children with Autism.

Describe typical audiologic results obtained from young children with autism.
Integrate at least 2 strategies to increase patient compliance during testing.
Prioritize testing and focus on what is needed in order to meet the patient’s needs for pursuing additional supports.
