Abstract: People that have experienced concussion and mild traumatic brain injury often report hearing and balance issues. There is evidence that this population is growing. The audiologist has a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing/listening/vestibular issues; however an interdisciplinary team approach is required to work with patients and their families. This presentation will provide an interprofessional practice (IPP) perspective from a team of physiatrist, optometrist, speech/language pathologist, and audiologists with expertise with patients with mTBI. The session will focus on disciplinary and interdisciplinary aspects of care and how an audiologist can build a team approach.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the role of team members in addressing the needs of the patient with a mTBI and their families.
Develop a team based on patient needs and presenting concerns that impact quality of life (QoL) and interface with hearing/listening/balance issues.
Identify resources to create a network for patient care for those that have had concussion and/or mTBI.
