Abstract: Early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) is best executed through family-centered care with partnerships among multiple care providers. The medical home is a critical partner in follow-up after referral on newborn hearing screening and subsequent enrollment into early intervention. This presentation will review what we understand as the current state of the medical home’s involvement in facilitating EHDI and provide tangible examples of how audiologists can work with primary care physicians, family practice providers, and nurse practitioners in pediatrics to facilitate EHDI.
