Abstract: This session will review the results of a multicenter retrospective study which shows speech perception outcomes similar to that reported in the literature. Given that the estimated market penetration of cochlear implants in the U.S. remains at approximately 5-10% there is an obvious need for a change in the standard of care for delivery of services to candidates and recipients. It is well within the scope of practice for professionals in independent audiology clinics and private practices to provide these services for their patients. To prove the success of this expanded care model, a multicenter retrospective study was undertaken to gather speech perception outcomes. These results will be presented and compared with the literature.
