Abstract: < ! Forensic Audiology is a narrow audiology sub-specialty requiring knowledge, skills, and a background in medical, clinical, research, teaching, or industrial audiology. If accepted as an expert, the audiologist will work with legal entities to opine on the relationships between the complaint, the impairment, disability, and quality of life changes. The audiologist will be asked to identify rehabilitative needs, including hearing aids, therapies, and assistance. These opinions will determine how the case is adjudicated and the amount of financial benefit and rehabilitation activities if an award is provided. This course offers a guide to those interested in Forensic Audiology.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion the participants will be able to identify the role and requirements of an expert witness in Audiology.
Upon completion the participants will be able to identify the different case types and expertise needed (i.e., Personal Injury, Civil vs Criminal, ADA, OSHA, Fitness for Duty, etc.).
Upon completion the participant will be able to prepare and present various legal motions or presentations for depositions or court appearances.
