Abstract: Hearing aid users commonly complain that background noise causes difficulties when communicating in various environments. The acceptable noise level (ANL) was proposed as an effective method to predict hearing aid success pre-hearing aid fitting. This presentation will address hearing aid acceptance with particular attention to communication in noise. Additionally, we will focus on providing an overview of ANL, a demonstration of ANL measurement, and share implementation strategies for clinical use of ANL with patients.
